Filter Whistle
A. Locate and remove filter.
First, locate your HVAC filter. Depending your system, the filter may be located behind a grate in the wall or ceiling of your home.
Next, remove the old filter currently in place, and get ready to replace it with a clean filter and the filter whistle.
B. Attach filter whistle to filter.
Your filter whistle comes in two pieces: a base and a hat. To install the filter whistle, align the base and hat, one on each side of the clean air filter, and slide the two pieces together through the filter. Make sure the base faces the direction of the incoming airflow, and the hat is on the opposite side, where the air exits the filter.
C. Replace air filter.
As dirt on the filter builds up, it produces an increase in pressure, which triggers a whistle, letting you know it’s time to replace your filters. The furnace filter whistle can be used repeatedly on both reusable and replaceable air filters.
Now, replace your air filter with the filter whistle securely in place. Follow the directions on your filter to make sure it is facing the right direction.
